The core appeal of foundation products (liquid foundation, foundation cream, air cushion foundation) is smooth application, evenly dispersed powder, not easy to settle, lasting makeup, and reducing powder sticking, mottling, and makeup removal. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), with its excellent pigment dispersion, film forming performance and rheological adjustment ability, has become an important functional additive in the base makeup formula, and is widely used in water oil liquid foundation, air cushion, foundation make-up cream and other products.

1、 Core mechanism of action: Triple action of dispersion, film-forming, and rheological regulation

Pigment dispersion and stability mechanism: PVP molecules are adsorbed on the surface of iron oxide and titanium dioxide powder particles through hydrogen bonds to form a colloidal protective layer, prevent pigment particles from agglomeration and sedimentation, avoid foundation make-up layering and color paste precipitation during storage, and ensure the consistent color of the whole bottle of product.

Process key points: PVP and moisturizer should be completely dissolved first, and then added to the color powder system for thorough grinding and dispersion.

3. foundation make-up cream/foundation cream: add 1.2% -2.2% PVP K60 to improve the structural stability of the cream, improve the application ductility, and reduce the risk of oil production and collapse of the cream. Process key points: PVP is melted with oil, wax and heated at 70-75 ℃, thoroughly stirred and homogenized.
