The mechanism of action of PVP in sunscreen products revolves around film-forming protection and skin improvement. By collaborating with sunscreen agents, oils, emulsifiers, and other ingredients, it achieves a dual enhancement of efficient sun protection and comfortable experience

1. Film formation and sun protection mechanism: PVP has good film-forming properties and can quickly form a transparent and dense protective film on the surface of the skin after application. It fixes the sunscreen agent (physical sunscreen agent, chemical sunscreen agent) in the film layer, avoiding the sunscreen agent from falling off or losing, prolonging the sun protection time, and improving the sun protection effect. At the same time, this protective film can block the penetration of ultraviolet rays, enhance sun protection ability, and achieve long-term protection.

1. Sunscreen (emulsion): Adding 1.5% -3.0% PVP K60 to emulsion sunscreen can enhance the stability and durability of the sunscreen film, prevent the film from falling off, improve skin feel, avoid whitening and stickiness, and make the sunscreen application smoother, suitable for daily commuting use. Process points: mix PVP with sunscreen agents (such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide), grease and emulsifier, heat them to 70 80 ℃, stir them until they are completely dissolved, homogenize them, add essence and preservative after cooling, and adjust the pH value to 6.0 7.0 to ensure the stability of the product.

2. Sunscreen spray: adding 1.0% -2.0% PVP K40 to the sunscreen spray can improve the film forming speed and durability of the sunscreen spray. After spraying, the sunscreen film can be quickly formed to avoid the loss of sunscreen. At the same time, the skin feels fresh, not greasy, not white, easy to carry, easy to reapply, and suitable for outdoor use. Process key points: Mix PVP with sunscreen, ethanol, and deionized water, stir until completely transparent, add a small amount of plasticizer to avoid bubble formation, and fill before use.

3. Waterproof Sunscreen: Adding 2.5% -4.0% PVP K90 to waterproof sunscreen can enhance the waterproofness of the sunscreen film, prevent sweating and water from causing the film to fall off, extend the sun protection time, and also provide a refreshing skin feel. It is suitable for use in swimming, sports and other scenarios.

3、 Advantages and safety features

Compared with traditional sun protection agents such as polyvinyl alcohol and carboxymethyl cellulose, PVP has the advantages of fast film-forming speed, long-lasting sun protection, refreshing skin feel, and no whitening. It also has excellent compatibility with various sun protection agents and will not affect the sun protection effect. In terms of safety, PVP is non irritating, non allergenic, can directly contact the skin, and will not clog pores. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and meets the safety standards of cosmetics in the European Union, the United States, and China. It is widely used in various sunscreen products.
